Think of family holidays to the USA and instantly Mickey Mouse and his friends spring to mind. However, as delightful as Disney is, America has considerably more to offer.
Florida has become a very popular destination for British family holidays and is blessed with blue skies, sunshine and a host of theme parks to suit every taste. Further up and down the coast respectively lie San Francisco and San Diego, the former with its hills, piers and bridges and the latter with its fabulous zoo. Both of these cities make for ideal start and end points to a trip up the West Coast.
Further inland are the twinkling lights of Las Vegas – perhaps not somewhere that springs to mind as a family destination but one that’s certainly worth taking in.
