Family holiday: Egypt and winter sun
Whether it’s a short break or a longer stay, we appreciate that in the dark winter months a touch of sun can lift the spirits. Winter breaks can be a winner on all fronts – prices are often cheaper and resorts much calmer.
Although not the traditional time for family holidays, for pre-school children temperatures are much more manageable, swimming pools are less crowded – all lending to more relaxing family holidays.
If it’s true winter sun you are looking for then you could head for the Gambia, culturally very enlightening and with an average temperature around 34 degrees or to our favourite winter sun family holiday destination – The Canaries. All four islands offer similar temperatures and plenty of family-friendly beaches.
Our recommended alternative is Egypt, a popular destination all year round but the winter months are a great time to visit as temperatures tend to dip a few degrees.
