Holiday parks in the UK are plentiful and offer self-catering accommodation in addition to catered restaurants to serve the family holiday. For obvious reasons, almost all are situated by the coast although not necessarily in the perceived warmer southern counties!
A holiday park can mean one of several things in this country – from the coloured jackets of the entertainment-packed chalet resorts to converted country manors with lodge-filled grounds. With the emphasis on packing in entertainment and activities, coupled with basic accommodation, the former options represent a good bet for those looking to offload the children and cram in as much as possible each day without having to venture off the complex.
Holiday parks can also be a fine solution when looking for a base from which to tour a region, not least as by default the parks are often located in popular and appealing areas. The added convenience of a bar for a late-night drink or a shop selling milk for your tea is a valuable benefit too!
