Cyprus, the birthplace of Aphrodite, is an archaeological treasure-trove with many sites to visit across the island, from tombs and mosaics to churches and monasteries. Paphos is the historical centre of the island and very popular with families but perhaps you would prefer something a little quieter like Polis & Latchi or Protaras. Limassol is the second largest town on the island and provides a great base for the family that likes to explore on holiday. If you are looking for something a little livelier then Ayia Napa is the party capital of the island.
Cyprus is served by two international airports, Paphos and Larnaca, both of which are frequented by flights from the UK. If you don't mind around an hour's transfer time it is feasible to fly into either regardless of your final destination.
