Some car hire companies will not accept bookings for within 7 days of departure and many in smaller locations will be fully booked – so we suggest booking well in advance!
Many of the larger organisations will allow you to take a range of fuel options, particularly in the US. We suggest the advance fuel payment is a good option when travelling in the US – the hire company will charge a small premium for filling the car upon return, saving you time and the hassle of finding a gas station.
